Children's Hands (1923)

Steven Rebeck had a special artistic interest in his children. Four other major creations in this "Works" section were of busts, a medal and a plaque. In addition, among Rebeck's estate items were these plaster impressions of hands. The first two are of his first born, Steven, Jr. and the bottom two of his middle son, Paul.

One would imagine clay impressions were made into which plaster was poured. Some had metal hooks imbedded for wall hanging and some had name and months etched into the plaster. Paul's (bottom) are so named as "14 M(onths)."
